The 51st European Physical Society Conference on Plasma Physics (EPS 2025) took place on 7–11 July 2025 in Vilnius, Lithuania. This event remains one of the most prestigious international platforms in the field of plasma research. It brought together over 500 scientists from 35 countries, who presented a total of 446 scientific contributions.

Ukraine was represented by six researchers, four of whom are affiliated with the National Science Centre “Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology” (NSC KIPT).
The following Ukrainian scientists presented their work:
🔹 Yurii Martsenyuk
🔹 Yuliia Kulyk
🔹 Yuliia Volkovа
🔹 Yurii Kovtun, who, in addition to his scientific contribution, is a member of the EPS 2025 Programme Committee and Head of the National Euratom Contact Point for Fusion Research.
Ukrainian contributions were featured in the conference’s key sessions, covering magnetic confinement fusion plasma research as well as other topical areas ranging from theoretical models to experimental work. Despite the ongoing challenges in Ukraine, its scientists continue to demonstrate a consistently high level of engagement with the international research community and make a meaningful contribution to the development of nuclear and plasma physics.

The conference welcomed participants from countries including Germany, Italy, France, the USA, the UK, South Korea, Japan, China, India, Poland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and many more.
The programme included:
- 15 plenary talks
- 8 award-winner presentations
- 83 oral contributions
- 283 poster presentations
The topics spanned:
• Magnetic confinement fusion plasma (285 presentations)
• Beam plasma and inertial fusion (79)
• Low-temperature and dusty plasmas (27)
• Space and astrophysical plasma (51)
As per tradition, the conference featured the awarding of several prestigious prizes:
• Hannes Alfvén Prize
• EPS Plasma Physics Division PhD Research Award
• EPS Plasma Physics Division Innovation Award
• EPS–PPCF Sylvie Jacquemot Early Career Prize
• Student Prizes, including the Kyushu University Itoh Project Prize and PPCF/EPS/IUPAP Student Poster Prizes
This year’s conference also included a number of notable events:
• The satellite meeting “Quantum Computing for Plasma Physics”, dedicated to exploring the use of quantum computing in plasma research. Programme details: epsplasma2025.com/satellite-meeting
• The traditional “Women in Plasma Physics” event, first held in London in 2004, continues to serve as a platform for discussing gender equality, diversity, and inclusion in science.
• A panel discussion “Generation Fusion”, focused on the role of the human factor in the development of fusion energy. The recording is available here: epsplasma2025.com/generation-fusion
