On 20–21 August 2025, a two-day training session took place at the National Science Center “Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology,” organised by the Technology Transfer Office of NSC KIPT and the National Contact Point for Euratom in Ukraine. The event was held in a hybrid format and focused on practical aspects of Ukrainian researchers’ participation in HORIZON EUROPE and EURATOM programmes.

Speakers at the event included Sergii Pugach and Vitalii Zhurenko from the National Contact Point for Euratom in Ukraine, who presented practical tools for preparing project proposals and taking part in international calls.

Participants gained insights into the key stages of grant application preparation, formalising the competencies of research teams, effective tools for partner search, and opportunities for international collaboration.

The first day concentrated on describing competencies, building research team profiles, communication tools for potential partners, and workflows for grant projects. Participants had hands-on experience using the CORDIS platform, refining their skills in project searches by keywords, analysing partner and consortium information. The session also covered project funding opportunities and introduced the NURECAB mobility programme. Steps for preparation for the Euratom Work Programme 2026–2027, with calls expected to open in spring 2026, were also highlighted.

The second day included practical exercises on searching for calls via the European Commission portal, understanding participation requirements, forming consortia, and structuring project proposals. Special attention was given to analysing expected results and research impact, as well as planning communication and dissemination activities.

The training was attended by 34 participants and provided a valuable platform for raising researchers’ awareness and developing their practical skills in international scientific projects under the Horizon Europe and Euratom programmes.
