On 17 September 2025, an international Conference on Ukraine’s Reconstruction in Research and Higher Education was held at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. The event was attended by representatives of the NSC KIPT – Volodymyr Chyzhov, Sergii Pugach, and Sergii Fomin.

The conference was organised within the framework of the RIFF project, which has been creating a platform over the past three years to discuss the development of Ukraine’s research infrastructure. The event featured examples of structured international support from Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, as well as Ukrainian initiatives, including the MAVKA Beamline and the LUKE platform, which aim to integrate Ukraine into the European research area.

During the conference, Sergii Pugach presented the results of the first year of the NURECAB project, emphasising its role in developing Ukrainian scientific and educational infrastructure and in integrating Ukrainian researchers into the European scientific community.

The NURECAB project serves as a platform for international mobility and collaboration of Ukrainian researchers in the field of nuclear research, aimed at strengthening connections with European partners, facilitating knowledge exchange, and enhancing the skills of academic and research personnel.
The conference highlighted the existence of multi-level support—from the EU, European сountries, and individual organizations—and created conditions for continued dialogue and the identification of solutions for the recovering and sustainable development of Ukraine’s research infrastructure.
The NURECAB project (GA#101173510) is implemented with the support of the European Union under the Euratom Research and Training Programme (HORIZON EUROPE).
