On April 25, 2025, a hybrid-format roundtable discussion on opportunities within the Horizon Europe programme took place in Ivano-Frankivsk. The event was organized by the National Contact Point (NCP) for Horizon Europe in the areas of the European Research Council (ERC) and Legal and Financial Aspects, operating at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas.

The roundtable, entitled “Overview of Current Horizon Europe Programmes: From Agri-sector to Climate and Innovation. New Directions of the European Commission”, aimed to encourage the participation of Ukrainian researchers, innovators, and civil society organisations in EU programmes that offer new opportunities for scientific advancement, sustainable development, and cross-sectoral collaboration.

Participants discussed key thematic areas of Horizon Europe for 2025–2027, the New European Bauhaus initiative, financial frameworks for implementing international technical assistance projects, specifics of grant and consortium agreements, and upcoming ERC funding calls.

Among the speakers were representatives of various National Contact Points, including:

  • Karina Shahbazyan (Legal and Financial Aspects, ERC).
  • Lyubomyr Nykyruy (Joint Research Centre – JRC).
  • Olesia Skliarenko (New European Bauhaus).
  • Sergii Pugach (Euratom – Fission).

Such meetings help Ukrainian academic and research communities more actively engage with European programmes, establish international consortia, and develop innovative interdisciplinary projects aligned with EU priorities.
