The NURECAB project participants took part in the VI International Scientific and Technical Conference «Prospects for Innovations in Nuclear Energy». Ukrainian Nuclear Society organized the event in cooperation with the Institute for Safety Problems of Nuclear Power Plants NAS of Ukraine and The Council of Young Scientists at the Department of Power and Energy Technologies NAS of Ukraine.
Vitalii Zhurenko, Ph.D. of Physics and Mathematics Sciences, Senior Researcher at the National Science Center Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology, presented materials of NURECAB project “EU-UA Nuclear Research and Education Capacity Building”.


The goals and objectives, as well as the nearest plans for NURECAB project implementation, were demonstrated to Ukraine’s nuclear education, scientific, and industrial community.
The conference participants were invited to participate in the 1st NURECAB Workshop «UA and EU nuclear education trends and nuclear industry prospects» to be held on 10 October in Kyiv (registration form: https://forms.gle/Cz8rix54ZdkJMGDn9 ).
In addition, other project initiatives were highlighted, in particular
– providing mobility grants to expand Ukraine’s participation in the Euratom Programme and scientific youth capacity building in the fission and fusion areas;
– conducting a study of the gaps between the educational programme and the needs of the Ukrainian nuclear sector;
– rethinking of European experience to create opportunities for improvement of nuclear education in Ukraine.
Participation in the conference was part of the NURECAB project (GA# 101173510), which is funded by the European Union under the Euratom Programme, Horizon Europe.
