Institute of Plasma Physics of National Science Center Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology

  1. Thermonuclear Research (Theory and Experiment): magnetic confinement of plasma in stellarators, development of the methods and application of high-frequency plasma heating, development and use of methods for high-temperature plasma diagnostics.
  2. Some aspects of the ITER thermonuclear reactor: experimental modeling of the behavior of the divertor materials, the first mirrors of optical methods for the diagnostics of high-temperature plasma, the problem of hydrogen recycling, etc.
  3. Development and application of powerful pulsed and quasistationary plasma accelerators for: conducting experiments that simulate the behavior of energy-stressed elements of the diverter of a thermonuclear reactor.
  4. Plasma technology: modification of the surface of materials under the influence of powerful plasma streams with various gases in use, methods for applying multilayer composite coatings using combined discharges, development of compact ozonizers and sterilizers based on barrier discharges.
