The Ukrainian Nuclear Society invites you to take part in a unique event — Atom Slam, the first informal science communication show in Ukraine for professionals in the nuclear field.
Atom Slam will take place within the VII International Scientific and Technical Conference NUCNEXT-2025: “Prospects for the Introduction of Innovations in Nuclear Energy.”
The event is held with the support of the international project NURECAB — an initiative that is devoted to capacity building of a new generation of nuclear experts in Ukraine and the EU.
Atom Slam is a vibrant and engaging format of scientific presentations where:
- each participant has up to 5 minutes;
- to present their research or project in a clear, witty, and interactive way;
- and the audience acts as the jury, choosing the winner by the strength of their applause.
The goal is to deliver a meaningful scientific idea so that everyone in the room says: “That was brilliant!” It’s a chance to captivate the audience and present complex topics in a simple, creative, and inspiring manner — with a touch of humour and genuine passion.
We welcome young nuclear professionals, including:
- students, PhD candidates, and early-career researchers;
- employees of the nuclear and related industries;
- and anyone ready to speak about their work with energy, clarity, and charisma.
Presentations may be based on bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral theses, as well as practical experience or innovative developments.
Atom Slam is part of the international NURECAB initiative, which promotes knowledge exchange, the development of science communication skills, and the creation of an open, European scientific community in the nuclear sector.
The event demonstrates that science can be not only profound, but also engaging, informal, and accessible — exactly what NURECAB stands for in empowering the next generation of nuclear professionals.
