A meeting-celebration of the 20th anniversary of the European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN) was held on September 22, 2023 in Brussels.

The event discussed the work of ENEN: past, current, educational plans of the European Union countries related to nuclear energy, as part of a future energy mix that does not have hydrocarbon emissions. The goal of the European Union countries for nuclear energy is 150 GW of capacity by 2050, accordingly, European plans for nuclear education are also significant.

Representatives of the National Contact Point of the Euratom Programme in Ukraine (Sergey Pugach, coordinator of the Euratom NCP) and V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (Phylyp Kuznetsov, acting director of the “School of Physics and Technology”) took part in the event. The purpose was the development of cooperation between ENEN and Ukrainian parties of nuclear education in Ukraine, deeper understanding ENEN’s activities, discussing joint projects and opportunities for Ukraine’s participation and the development of Ukrainian youth knowledge in the nuclear sector.
