On 9 October 2025, as part of the 20th International Frayik Conference on Physics and Technology of Thin Films and Nanosystems (ICPTTFN-XX), an Information Day “Horizon Europe” was held at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University (Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine).

The event aimed to familiarise Ukrainian researchers with the opportunities offered by Horizon Europe and Euratom programmes and to support their integration into the European research community.

The main speakers of the event were representatives of the National Contact Points (NCPs) of the Horizon Europe and Euratom Framework Programmes in Ukraine:

  • Tetiana Popova – Head of the NCP “European Research Council (ERC)” in Ukraine;
  • Iryna Shteinmiller – Head of the NCP “Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA)” in Ukraine;
  • Liubomyr Nykyruy – Head of the NCP “Joint Research Centre (JRC)” in Ukraine;
  • Sergii Pugach – Head of the NCP “Euratom – Nuclear Fission” in Ukraine.

During the Information Day, the speakers presented up-to-date information on programme priorities, open calls, and plans for the 2026 Work Programmes. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions, exchange experiences, and discuss the specifics of preparing project proposals within the EU Framework Programmes.

The organisers highlighted the importance of such information events for fostering international scientific cooperation and increasing the participation of Ukrainian researchers in European funding programmes.

Sincere thanks to Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University for the excellent organisation, warm hospitality, and fruitful discussions!
