Students and early-career professionals in the nuclear sector (with up to 10 years of experience) are invited to take part in the EASI-SMR International Workshop on Thermal-Hydraulic Scaling for SMR Safety Demonstration, which will be held on 16–19 December 2025 in Bologna and Piacenza, Italy.

Grants for Participants

Thanks to the ENEN2plus Project, participants have the opportunity to receive mobility grants of €850 to cover travel and accommodation expenses.
📌 Only 15 grants are available – specifically for students and early-career professionals (≤10 years of experience) in the nuclear field.

Workshop Programme

Over the course of three days, participants will:

  • explore the specific thermal-hydraulic phenomena in SMRs;
  • study scaling methodologies, their limitations, and advanced approaches;
  • review international case studies from the USA, Europe, Japan and South Korea;
  • join panel discussions on scaling from experiments to reactor design, as well as on addressing uncertainties and simulation codes;
  • take part in a technical visit to the SIET facilities in Piacenza.

This interactive event is designed to strengthen participants’ expertise in SMR safety demonstration and licensing.
