The Euratom NCP in Ukraine holds a series of trainings “Improving knowledge about HORIZON EUROPE and EURATOM Programmes towards deeper integration of Ukrainian science into the European research area”. The series consists of 4 two-day trainings devoted to various issues of Horizon Europe Programme and Euratom Programme.

On June 20 and 22, 2023, Euratom NCP in Ukraine held a two-day online training on participation in Horizon Europe Programme and Euratom Programme, which was a planned CSA event of the UAinEuratom21 project (GA#101072693) funded by the European Union under Euratom Programme (HORIZON EUROPE).

The on-line training consisted of two parts and lasted for two days:

1. “From idea to project “, June 20, 2023

Training speaker: Sergii Pugach, NSC KIPT. The following issues were addressed:

General information (HORIZON EUROPE and EURATOM)

  • Criteria for participation, types of projects and calls;
  • Funding and Tender Opportunities Portal;
  • Calls, documents, organization registration, LEAR.

Preparation of the project proposals

  • Search for partners, proposal structure, project structure;
  • Сommunication, Dissemination and Exploitation;
  • Grant agreement, consortium agreement, roles in project, project meetings, project monitoring and reporting;
  • Q&A.

2.“Нorizon Europe. Financial rules and declaration of costs.”, June 22, 2023

Training speaker: Sergii Pugach, NSC KIPT. The following issues were addressed:

  • Forms, types, budget items of project costs, which costs are eligible;
  • Budget planning, obtaining financing, ways to declare personnel costs;
  • Submission of financial statements;
  • Q&A.

The online training have been attended by 14 participants, who are representatives of university educational and scientific activities involved in education and training of personnel for the nuclear industry of Ukraine, have experience of participating or intend to become part of research, innovation and educational activities under the Euratom Programme calls.

Summarizing the results of the training, we would like to thank all colleagues participated in it. The participants noted, that the provided information was generally interesting and the most useful materials included: materials on proposal structure, planning and implementation of communication, dissemination and exploitation activities, information on direct costs, project budgeting, project reporting and auditing.

The Euratom NCP in Ukraine plans to hold two more trainings of the series “Improving knowledge about HORIZON EUROPE and EURATOM Programmes towards deeper integration of Ukrainian science into the European research area” in 2023. The main audience of Euratom NCP in Ukraine is representatives of research organizations, educational organizations, public and private sector enterprises involved in research, innovation, education and training in the nuclear industry of Ukraine.
